Portland, Maine
A renovation to the former Schlotterbeck and Foss facility located within the urban fabric of the Bayside Neighborhood. The project includes 1,750 sf of new office space, and 48 market rate units, targeted to provide affordable housing within the city of Portland's downtown.
Site challenges included incorporating 45 parking spaces, 25 bicycle parking spaces, sidewalk improvements, and linkage to the Bayside Trail.

Sanctuary Cove
Bridgton, Maine
Sanctuary Cove is a single family lot subdivision located on Woods Pond in Bridgton, Maine. The design consists of 18 acre woodland and waterfront lots.The subdivision has been designed to integrate the homes into the natural environment while minimizing visual impacts, maintaining the water quality of Woods Pond, a great pond, and preserving the existing trees on the property. Sanctuary Cove was designed using low impact design (LID) principals and was one of the first approved in the state. M&A worked closely with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to develop the LID standards to address water quality and storm water management.
Island View Apartments
Portland , Maine
Island View Apartments is a 70-unit apartment complex located in the Munjoy Hill section of Portland, Maine. The 4.0 acre site is part of a historic open water reservoir that failed in the early 1900’s. A challenging site due to location of a million gallon reservoir situated under a third of the site.
Four two-story townhouse were located along North Street to reflect the residential character of the street while the three-story 56 unit apartment building was setback from the street edge and located to take advantage of the distant views of Back Cove and Casco Bay.

Dunegrass
Old Orchard Beach, Maine
Dunegrass is a golf course resort and residential community on a 312 acre wooded site near the Atlantic coast. Working with Dan Maples, golf course architect, Mitchell & Associates acted as the design team leader for all site design development and construction document preparation. The design entailed 589 single-family and attached condominium units. Amenities include a championship 18 hole golf course, clubhouse, tennis courts and a series of ponds.
Grand Victorian Condominiums
Old Orchard Beach, Maine
The Grand Victorian is a 75 unit residential condominium and retail space overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The complex consists of 25,700 s.f. of first floor retail space, 75 condominium units on the upper four floors, a parking lot, an indoor swimming pool and a public outdoor plaza.
Mitchell & associates was selected to provide full site design services, Site Plan and Subdivision applications to the Town of Old Orchard Beach, NRPA Sand Dune Permit application to the Maine DEP, construction documents and construction administration services.
